Senior Pastor, Dr. Nerval Myrie
Pastor Nerval Myrie was born in the beautiful island of Jamaica in the parish of St. James. He grew up in Jamaica until age 12 before immigrating to England to join his parents and siblings. He was active in the Seventh-day Adventist church at a young age and was baptized at age 12.
He has been a full-time pastor for 25 years. He pastored in England for 14 years, serving 8 churches. During his 11 years in Canada he served the Mississauga Seventh-day Adventist church for 8 years as Senior Pastor and he’s presently the Senior Pastor of the Toronto Perth Seventh-day Adventist church since January 2010. Pastor Myrie enjoys pastoral ministry and feels blessed to be asked to shepherd God’s people.
He is a graduate from Oakwood University (formerly Oakwood College), Huntsville, Alabama (B.A.); Newbold College, Berkshire, England (M.A.) and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lombard, Illinois (D. Min.)
Pastor Myrie is a family man. He’s been married to his wife Zeneth for 27 years and they have been blessed with two wonderful children: Rachelle (Andrews University graduate) and Liam (Junior at Andrews University).
Pastor Nerval Myrie considers pastoral ministry as both a privilege and an honour. He’s humbled by the fact that he has been chosen to lead God’s people. He approaches his call to ministry with the gravity it demands. He believes in the “priesthood of all believers” and as such sees himself as the “first among equals”. Truly “at the foot of the cross the ground is level”.
